A Snapshot of Your Day
The major task of the Systems proposal engineer is to support professional bidding of the respective Turbo Compressor project, led by the bid proposal engineer and to combine all relevant competencies for customer-oriented and competitive bids of high quality.
How You’ll Make an Impact
•Lead for the Systems portion of Integrally Geared Turbo Compressor Trains, sizing and inquiry of components, comments and exceptions to the customer’s specifications, preparation of the technical proposal, cost and time schedule optimization and technical negotiations
•Technical support of proposal engineers, close to customers and partners during project pre-acquisition phase, expansion of technical competency together with resources from other disciplines
•Components of compressor trains consisting of e.g. heat exchangers, lube oil councils, piping for process,coolant, oil and auxiliaries, steel structures, filtration systems, noise abatement, etc.
•Inquiry of systems components, check and evaluation of supplier quotes
•Coordination of the plant layout - General arrangement
•Coordination of internal interfaces, collaboration with global hubs, sales manager and proposal engineer to complete the technical offer
•Prepare extended budgets and firm bids with e.g. general arrangement, technical solutions, costs,bidding documentation for the systems portion.
•Participate in customer negotiation meetings, finalize all technical items until contract award.
•Support the project handover process to the execution team.
•Perform cost estimation and optimization based on plant-standards, review costs for special options.
•Review and consolidate product cost database platform, monitor key cost drivers for current and future projects.
•Cost analysis and internal/external cost benchmark.
What You Bring
•Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process Engineering preferred)
•More than 3 years working experience, at least 2 years in plant design; preferably for Engineering or with proposal background
•Knowledge about compressor operation and plant design is highly preferred.
•Teamwork orientation
•Substantial experience in sales-oriented activities, including negotiations with customers
•Proactive, flexible, self-motivated, communication skills, positive & continuous learning attitude
•Experience abroad and cross-culture desired
•Excellent English skills, both verbally and in writing
•Willingness to travel
