A Snapshot of Your Day
The gas turbine auxiliaries engineer role would be working with the gas turbine fleet already in service. These would be unit in the Americas as well as units in the middle east. This position provides Customer Order Engineering (COE) support for Service products which includes implementation planning, execution, documentation, support for startup, product validation and design for GT auxiliaries components. Additionally will provide back office support of customer issues via customer/field requests. Potential to lead root cause analysis or drive solutions of customer issues.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- In general, the candidate should be familiar with the GT auxiliary systems and their components, such as fuel gas, fuel oil, lube oil, secondary air systems, etc as well as their purpose in order to keep the service fleet operational.
- Implementation of various upgrade products will enhance the existing fleets performance and efficiency to keep Siemens Energy competitive in the market.
- Supporting the fleet, occasionally in a real time environment, is important to show Siemens Energy’s commitment to customer focus.
- Candidate would work with Siemens Energy gas turbine auxiliary systems components with tasks that could include system design and troubleshooting in order to keep the engines running.
- Candidate may be expected to operate across traditional disciplinary boundaries in rare cases (e.g. Mechanical working on Controls and Electrical).
What You Bring
- BS/ in Mechanical Engineering, or related advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Advanced degree may be substituted for experience, where applicable)
- 8+ years of successful experience in power plant auxiliaries and operations and successful demonstration of responsibilities and knowledge as presented above
- Customer interaction and communication are a key part of the job, in which it is required to have good verbal and written communication skills
- This position will require the employee to react and respond quickly to various PCM issues on GT auxiliaries equipment.
- He/she should be able to follow and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), piping drawings, as well as a high level understanding of electrical schematics and control logic diagrams and how they interact for powerplant operation.
- Excellent analytic and troubleshooting capabilities and hands-on experience in problem-solving
- Additionally, knowledge and working experience of Siemens Energy control philosophy for gas turbine operation, including an ability to troubleshoot operating issues is preferred.
- The current area of need has a greater emphasis on mechanical engineering design needs.
