A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our innovative R&D Drivetrain team as a Structural Design Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge solutions for wind turbine technology. Imagine collaborating with a diverse project team from the early concept stage all the way to the final validation of products. You will engage in cost and design benchmark studies, conduct technology and feasibility assessments, and align with various stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Your expertise will support production and validation campaigns, making a significant impact on our projects across platforms.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You will ensure that the component designs you release meet structural integrity requirements, including strength, stiffness, and lifespan, while adhering to program and organizational constraints like cost and size.
- Take ownership of structural calculations and documentation, collaborating closely with designers to guarantee structural integrity.
- Provide valuable advice to designers and specialists on design concepts and details, enhancing the overall quality of our projects.
- Prepare essential project deliverables, including modeling and calculation reports (MCR), and support certification bodies by correlating FE models with real prototypes and test bench results.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
- At least 5 years of experience in product development and structural design.
- Advanced proficiency in FEA software such as Ansys, Workbench, APDL, and Abaqus.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter Siemens PLM and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC is a plus.
- A proactive, self-initiated problem solver with strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
About the Team
You will be part of a dynamic global team of around 30 dedicated professionals focused on creating key components for onshore wind turbine machinery, particularly in gear technology. The team specializes in structural calculations for critical components, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards. They regularly review and perform new calculations based on project needs, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and excellence.
