A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), you will be part of a growing function in a position that entails a large responsibility!

In your role, you will collaborate closely with suppliers and commodity managers with a shared target to secure qualified deliveries from qualified suppliers. We work in a multi-cultural environment with contacts with different departments locally and globally. Networking is a key for success.

A part of your responsibility within commodity Electrolyzer Module Integration for hydrogen production systems, will be supplier qualifications, product and process qualifications, addressing nonconformances, Root Cause Analysis, and implementing preventative measures & risk mitigation measures.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Main interface to supplier on technical and quality aspects. Collaborates with engineering to refine product and process designs to increase manufacturability in order to improve quality and decrease costs. Also, interface with procurement, quality management on supplier quality topics.

• Supplier Qualification: Lead a cross-functional team to assess supplier manufacturing capabilities, audit supplier quality management system & processes etc.

• Product and Process Qualification: Lead cross-functional team to perform Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) in supply base for electrical and instrumentation (E&I) installation for Electrolyzer hydrogen production system to applicable drawings, process descriptions and standards. Leading PPQ includes the tracking and reporting of supplier qualification milestones and provide technical support to suppliers to succeed in meeting Siemens technical and quality requirements.

• Approve supplier manufacturing process via submitted Manufacturing Quality Control Plan and FMEAs.

• Perform supplier oversight and product inspections during execution of Product and Process Qualification. Inspection types include functional test, final inspection of electrical and instrumentation installation and review of datasheets and calibration records of instruments.

• Identify and initiate containment on any identified non-conformances. Follow-up with root cause corrective and preventive action as necessary.

• You are proficient in defining inspections and test plans for integrated modules of Oil & Gas or Hydrogen production system.

• Supplier Development: Support supplier evaluation based on regular analysis of supplier quality performance. Initiate and implement supplier quality improvement programs, quality root cause analysis and definition of appropriate risk mitigation measures at the supplier.

• Assist commodity / strategic buyer in identifying new suppliers and provide input for sourcing strategy.

• Responsibility to comply and / or enforce the protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality etc.)

What You Bring

• A college or university education in electrical engineering or similar with professional experience or equivalent experience

• 6 - 10  years of professional experience as a Manufacturing Engineer and/or Supplier Quality Engineer in qualifying suppliers for electrical and instrumentation (E&I) installation for Oil & Gas or Hydrogen production system.

• You have experience in leading projects and running virtual cross-functional teams in an international environment. You are a self-starter, determined and self-reliant; your organization, strategic, analytical thinking, leadership skills and intercultural expertise round up your profile.

• You have extensive knowledge in E&I (Electrical and Instrumentation) inspection and electrical tests.

• You are familiar with NEC/NFPA70 standard and UL certification requirements for electrical components.

• You have desirable knowledge in ATEX/IECEX requirements for E&I components installed in EX Zones (CompEX or ATEX Certification is a differential)

• Computer skills: MS Office, SAP ERP

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20-40% of time.

• Quality Management Module for SAP

This position directly supports Sustainable Energy System product line within business area Transformation Industry out of Querétaro, Mexico.
