Senior Commercial Project Manager

How You Will Make an Impact

  • With your extensive experience in execution of turnkey projects, be able to act as mentor to other commercial project managers, challenge their individual projects monthly forecasts and estimated cost to complete for plausibility vs actual situation at project sites, whilst supporting their personal development.
  • Drive positive changes in the work culture, critically analyze the workflow and be able to provide insights and implement measures to bring efficiencies.
  • Ensure complete coordination with auditors (internal or external), meeting requirements of internal controls and ensure zero findings.
  • Act as currency manager for the department and ensure monthly reconciliations to limit exposure to foreign currency transactions.
  • Lead all aspects of the logistics operations and guide the team to optimize shipping plans (cost focused) and minimize disruptions to the projects from regional and global events.
  • Regularly performs lessons learned and feeds results into own project lessons learned activities and into own organization including non-conformance cost reporting.
  • Be responsible for execution of projects including from project handover phase until completion, which includes but not limited to:
    • Ensures an adequate project handover phase, analyzes customer’s requirements, examines commercial and contractual feasibility for implementation.
    • Handling and optimizing targeted financial results with due professional care (e.g., revenue, cost, project gross profit, cash flow, assets, and financing instruments)
    • Project forecasting, reporting, analysis, and preparation of estimate to complete.
    • Ensure compliance to all applicable guidelines in managing the project e. FRGs, NCM, LoA, transfer pricing, tax, BCGs, ECC and applicable laws.
    • Ensures the accuracy of cost and pricing calculation as well as overall project books and records, incl. recording in appropriate systems e.g., Spiridon. preparation of all commercial documentation required for the project’s records, reviews meetings and audits.
    • Managing project risk and opportunities in the project together with the Project Manager.
    • Support Project Manager to conduct stakeholder analysis and manage requirements (customer, subcontractors, internal management, consortium partners and other team members etc.)
    • Actively gathers information on customer, build effective relationships with customers’ senior management and manage customer expectations alongside the project manager.
  • Managing controlling tasks of BU (budgeting, forecasting, ESPRIT, focus plus, conducting balance sheet & OCC reviews, A/R status, SG&A etc.)
  • Able to work effectively with individuals from multiple cultures and backgrounds. 
  • Sensitivity toward other culture/mentality in the respective region.
  • Managing pressure during peak execution season.
  • Managing difficult & challenging situation and conflicts management.

What You Bring

  • You should have at least 10 years of experience as Commercial Project Manager, Commercial Finance Manager or higher, demonstrating skills in people management, project management, business controlling, forecasting, and reporting, a deep understanding of contract management aspects, proficiency in SAP, MS office, etc. International experience will be an added advantage.
  • You have a professional certification from a recognized accounting body having completed the minimum training period from a reputed accounting firm.
  • Masters / bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance
  • Certification in commercial project management is preferred.
  • Experience with Project Management methods, processes, and tools.
  • Experience with Business Processes (project execution, sales, purchasing etc.)
  • Accounting Principles (FRGs / IFRSs)
  • Excellent oral & written communication & presentation skills
