A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, you will be responsible for handling all commercial and financial topics throughout the whole sales/ bid process and execution phase, including preparation and negotiation of the commercial and financial terms and conditions, and a variety of financial activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. You will interact with a very diverse and international team within the region and the Headquarter across relevant functions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
In this role as Senior Commercial Officer, you will handle a variety of financial activities through whole cycle of sales contracts for GS Taiwan businesses. The specific responsibilities and deliverables associated with this role include but not limited to:
• Develop the winning strategy together with the Sales Manager and commercial counterparts in business units, acting as a strong local partner to ensure alignment with regional requirements and execution realities
• Act as a key commercial liaison between HQ, regional stakeholders, and local project teams, ensuring alignment across organizational and business unit interfaces
• Participate in defining business models based on business, customer and tax regulations
• Handle all commercial aspects such as contract analysis, cost calculation, financing concepts, currency, hedging, risks and opportunities, bonds, terms of payment, credit rating, insurances, export control, compliance etc.
• Relationship management with external project collaborators such as customers or consortium partners.
• Participate in negotiation of T&Cs with the applicable guidelines, lead commercial negotiations in coordination with the relevant departments (e.g. Legal, SFS, insurance, Taxes, etc.)
• Prepare and present the Limits of Authority (LoA) according to the protocol required and act as sparring partner for regions and bid team members
• Ensuring the correctness of the relevant approvals in accordance with the actual negotiations and providing lessons learned to financially and contractually comparable projects
• Complete and timely deliver all financial/commercial relevant documents and information to the project execution (handover)
• Manage project finances on the basis of contractual development and risk situation, e.g. project gross profit, cash flow, assets and financing instruments
• Support the local execution of global contracts by translating contractual, financial, and organizational requirements into clear and actionable guidance
• Together with Project Manager (PM) ensure the accuracy of cost and pricing calculation
• Ensure the accuracy of project books and records, and compliance with Siemens Energy FRG and GAAP requirements
• Simplify complex commercial, contractual, and organizational setups into clear, pragmatic solutions for stakeholders across different functions and regions
• Demonstrate ownership mindset by stepping beyond defined scope when required, where it adds value to project or business outcomes
• Other tasks assigned by the supervisor
• Hands-on attitude is required to manage well the full scope of financial and commercial activities
What You Bring
Required knowledge/skills, education, and experiences to be considered for this position.
• A degree in Business Administration/ Management, Finance, Accounting or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years in various finance functions such as commercial project management, project controlling or accounting which includes project financing, accounting and reporting principles
• 3+ years experience in commercial bid or sales Management for product, service or solution business with external customers which includes offer preparation and contraction negotiations
• Analytical thinking, result and quality oriented approach, solid professional judgment and problem solving ability are required competencies
• Ability to conceptualize & socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward
• Excellent communications skills in Mandarin and English; able to clearly and concisely express information to associates, peers and senior management through writing, speaking and presentations
• Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments
• Working under time pressure and heavy workload and easy on travels
• Ability to navigate complex organizational setups and work effectively across multiple interfaces (HQ, regional, local)
• Strong capability to structure and simplify complex topics into clear messages and actions
• Self-driven mindset with proven ability to contribute beyond formally defined responsibilities when needed
