As a member of an international team working on Extended Reality solutions, your responsibility is to address everything related to 3D assets, from strategy to execution, ensuring faster and successful completion of XR use cases in Siemens Energy.

How you’ll make an Impact

• Cooperate with XR experts and engineers from distinct fields, to devise product specific strategies and workflows for 3D assets - from CAD / BIM to XR authoring platforms – reducing the technical complexity and increasing the execution speed for XR cases.
• Support our internal partners, handling all the complexities of multiple 3D systems and known game engines, executing 3D workflows, optimizing 3D assets for the target devices and publishing platforms, and solving issues.
• Support XR designers crafting animations and complex interactions with objects.
• Devise automated workflows for complex/large 3D assets, demonstrating your scripting skills, and AI tools.

What you bring

• University degree or equivalent experience in IT, computer science, engineering, game design, or similar.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the XR / game industry, or as 3D designer / artist.
• Experience in automation for all tasks in the 3D asset workflow.
• An impressive portfolio of projects (detailed), showcasing your skills handling all levels of complexity in all fields of 3D asset production.
• In-depth knowledge of computer graphics and technologies, being familiar with 3D formats, particularities, and industry standards.
• Highly skilled in artistic 3D applications such as Blender and Maya, not only in modelling, texturing, and animations, but also in scripting and automation plugins.
• Experienced in CAD / BIM applications such as NX and Autodesk 360, knowing the basics, but foremost the exporting methods, plugins and automations.
• You are no stranger to Unity and Unreal game engines, mastering all aspects of 3D asset creation, texturing, animations, graphics optimization, and interactable objects setup. You also know how to create, test and troubleshoot builds for multiple platforms.
• Familiar with texturing applications and used to procedural textures and automation.
• You can perform 3D scanning and handle point clouds of any complexity.
• Experienced with all sorts of plugins and applications for 3D assets: preview, conversion, export/import, optimization, generating LODs, etc.
• Customer and end user oriented: proven focus on UX and interface design.
• Experience working in agile teams and with scrum methodology.
• Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
• You have a passion for learning new technologies and exploring new possibilities in the field of extended reality.
• Proficient in English. Portuguese or German is a bonus.

The Extended Reality team in Digital Core is the North Star in Siemens Energy for augmented and virtual reality, as well as other interactive 3D technologies. Our global team supports the growth of the business by enabling and promoting XR technologies, platforms and applications, and driving innovative solutions with internal and external partners. We work with digitalization groups across the company to address all XR use cases and establish technical standards.
