A Snapshot of Your Day

The Repair Engineer is a thorough, dedicated and technical customer facing individual, who is focused on developing unique repair solutions of engineered-to-order turbomachinery using industry standards and Siemens Energy developed repair standards. The objective is to ensure reliability, availability and efficiency of the equipment while prioritizing safety and quality to return the unit back to operating condition!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Conduct reviews on shop book packages.
  • Develop work instructions, repair shop routers, inspection packages and quality plans.
  • Establish guidelines to provide engineering assessment and disposition for compromised equipment.
  • Collaborate with production bay supervisors and leadsman to ensure specifications and procedures are adhered to during each project phase.
  • Support the resolution of customer technical issues to provide effective solutions within acceptable schedule requirements.
  • Contribute to digitalization efforts to enhance shop operations (digital inspection programs i.e. 3-D scanning).
  • Practice innovation and optimize engineering processes to support shop execution.
  • Coordinate with experts to develop accurate repair dispositions.
  • Facilitate repair engineering improvement by reviewing repair standards with industry preferred methods.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes within the area of responsibility that impacts quality and business excellence.
  • Establish a high quality and safety culture during scope execution.
  • Drive harmony between product competency centers and repair engineering team.
  • Build a learning environment for all repair engineers at different locations, strive for collaboration.
  • Develop accurate reports and organizing engineering records to update fleet data.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent field).
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of working experience with rotating equipment; 5+ years in the oil & gas or power generation service industry is preferred.
  • Candidates with more years of experience may be eligible for a more senior level position.
  • Possess fundamental knowledge of turbomachinery theory and thorough understanding of standard repair principles is preferred.
  • Familiar with machining and mechanic operations is preferred.
  • Proficient in general software and data analysis skills required (Word, Excel, Outlook and basic 3D software (Poly works).
  • Must have familiarity and experience with industry standards (ASME & API).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to be agile/resourceful with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient with PLM (Team Center / Globus) and ERP (SAP) systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal ability and technical writing skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
