A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Quality Engineer – ASME Inspector, your day will be focused on ensuring full compliance of machining and manufacturing activities with ASME BPVC Section VIII, drawings, and customer requirements. You will plan and execute internal inspections across the machining process, verify material and process traceability, and coordinate inspection and test activities with Production, Engineering, Metrology, and NDE. A key part of your role is preparing complete inspection packages and Data Books, coordinating witness and hold points with the Authorized Inspector (AI), and ensuring timely closure of findings, NCRs, and corrective actions—always balancing compliance, safety, and on-time delivery.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Define, maintain, and execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and inspection checklists per work order in alignment with ASME BPVC Section VIII and customer requirements, including AI witness/hold points.
  • Perform and coordinate in-process and final inspections in machining, controlling results (accept, rework, re-inspect), issuing inspection reports, and managing internal NCRs.
  • Ensure inspection readiness and coordination for pressure and leak tests, including calibration, safety requirements, acceptance criteria, documentation, and AI scheduling.
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection packages and Data Books, including material traceability (MTR/CMTR), dimensional records, calibrations, test reports, and as-built documentation.
  • Drive timely closure of external AI and customer findings, deviations, NCRs, and CAPAs using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Why), including effectiveness verification.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Metallurgical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field, with 3–5+ years of experience in quality assurance/inspection within metal-mechanical manufacturing.
  • Solid working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII, including inspection requirements, traceability, pressure testing, marking, documentation, and coordination with an Authorized Inspector.
  • Strong metrology and dimensional inspection skills, including GD&T interpretation, use of precision measuring instruments and/or CMM, and understanding of calibration and traceability.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and problem-solving methodologies (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA/DFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
  • Intermediate to advanced English skills for technical documentation and interaction with customers and auditors, plus strong organization, autonomy, and communication skills.

About the Team

You will be part of a cross-functional Quality organization, working closely with Process Quality, Supplier Quality, Quality Systems, Production, Engineering, Metrology, and NDE teams. The team operates with a strong collaboration mindset, supporting audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence across the organization.
