A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy is looking for an experienced Project Manager with hands-on industrial equipment expertise. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and supervising planned activities from beginning to end. They balance budgets, keep track of work in progress, collaborate with suppliers, manage risks, and ensure projects are completed per schedule.

The individual will work with engineering, drafting, supply chain management, manufacturing, quality, and shipping to ensure the overall scope of supply per the quotation proposals is achieved. The individual will manage large multi-faceted projects and multiple projects at the same time. The candidates will have the opportunity to communicate with all levels of the organization, for example, explaining requirements to skilled craftsmen, technically supporting the scope of supply to other professionals, or resolving customer concerns.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Handle the order entry and transition process for assigned projects. Review order-entry packages and facilitate the receipt of all required information. Initiate the project through required formalities and internal/external kickoff meetings.
  • Take full ownership of the scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects. Fully understand the provisions of the contract and ensure organizational compliance with all requirements.
  • Develop project plans as necessary to implement the project successfully. Monitor and maintain the master project schedule including identification of the critical path and near critical path items to maintain delivery and cost objectives. Effectively report the progress and status of the project to management and the client by the project plan. Adequately document all subsequent (addendum) contractual agreements, both technical and commercial, and manage project scope via Contract Change Authorizations (CCA). Develop project-specific risk management plans and proactively manage technical and commercial risk throughout project execution to minimize company exposure.
  • Manage and maintain the project budget, initiating and facilitating corrective action to maintain financial objectives and revenue recognition. Positively influence financial position, by cash flow management, working with accounting group and client to ensure timely issue and collection of invoices related to payments.
  • Support the project through the warranty phase, working with the Commissioning Engineering Team member to address installation, startup, or warranty issues.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and management to develop relationships that are conducive to the successful completion of the project. Conduct Lessons Learned meetings for all projects; identify corrective actions and standard processes and solicit a Customer Satisfaction Survey for the contract closure process.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’ of Science Degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of project management experience in industrial equipment or related industries with applied mechanical skills is required.
  • Experience dealing directly with urgent critical-path project items, milestones, and key project results.
  • Understanding of project management concepts, practices and procedures, and schedule management tools (e.g. MS Project or equivalent).
  • Must be a steadfast problem-solver with big-picture focus, with the ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in the application of computerized systems, including standard business applications (i.e. MS Office)
  • Qualified individuals are able to clearly communicate effectively both orally & written. (Candidates will prepare & make presentations to any internal /external client level.)
  • Professional project management certification, such as PMI or IPMA is preferred.
  • Familiar with centrifugal and/or reciprocating compressors, gas, and/or steam turbines is preferred.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Additional Position Requirements:

  • Travel both domestically and internationally (Up to 25% on an annual basis is typical).
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a passport.
  • Ability to travel by plane is required.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
