A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking a Power Transmission & Systems/Network Studies Consultant to play a critical role in driving the energy transition and in creating a more sustainable future. As part of a global team of motivated and passionate individuals, you’ll leverage your technical background to coordinate technical studies related to power transmission, and work closely with our customers to develop customized solutions that improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. You will guide them in selecting optimal solutions, that meet their specific needs, and be integral part of project with real impact on the world.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Leading consulting engagements through completion, aligning team members from different technical backgrounds within a multi-cultural environment
  • Overseeing the execution of analyses of power systems, engagements for transmission and industrial network planning, and grid interconnection studies of large generation, storage and load resources.
  • Engaging with clients to define a successful ISO new interconnection application and FERC approval roadmaps, highlighting potential risks and commercial implications.
  • Supporting the integration of power electronic devices, renewable generation, storage devices, HVDCs, etc. into AC grids (from conceptual studies to project execution).
  • Supporting the analyses of high frequency phenomena like harmonic distortion, transient overvoltage, TRV, missing zero-crossings, or inrush currents
  • Presenting to new customers, showcasing our portfolio of offerings.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred)
  • 5 or more years of experience in conducting power system analysis in steady and transient states
  • Expert knowledge in transmission planning and operating studies (100 kV ~ 765 kV), power system performance analyses including load flow, dynamic stability, voltage stability, protection coordination, short-circuit and transfer limits.
  • Deep understanding of ISO new resource application approval processes and grid planning considerations.
  • Experience in conducting NERC Modeling (MOD) and Protective Relay (PRC) reports and tuning of power system stabilizer.
  • Advanced skills in HVDC applications, power transmission systems, NERC compliance, power electronics and new resource commercial development.
  • Experience in power system simulation programs (e.g. PSS/E, TARA, PSLF, DigSilent PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD/EMTDC, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Appreciation of electrical balance-of-plant and industrial power supply concepts are a plus.
  • Hands-on expertise in programming tools such as Python, FORTRAN, MATLAB, etc.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 40%.
