A Snapshot of Your Day
In the role of Mechanical and Systems Engineer, you will be the mechanical lead for rotating machinery projects, working as a team member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team from sales handover through project execution, installation and commissioning, and warranty phases.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead mechanical and systems technical scope for packaged rotating equipment projects (gas turbine generators, compressors, etc.) for onshore and offshore applications.
- Support Project Engineer in resolving technical issues with both internal teams and external clients.
- Ensure the highest engineering standards are upheld during the design and manufacture of mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and integrate gas turbine, compressor, and process systems with electrical and control systems, including lube oil, fuel gas, and seal gas.
- Advise drafting/design teams on crafting contract P&IDs, bills of materials, and part assemblies; support production through assembly instructions and redlining drawings.
- Manage Mechanical Engineering schedule and budget, ensuring timely release of specifications and documentation, and provide technical support through warranty and service handover.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an engineering-related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
- 1 to 2 years of Mechanical Engineering experience. Advanced degree or equivalent experience may substitute for work experience. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
- Rotating Equipment experience is a plus.
- Ability to advise a small team and give general direction to others. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel).
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

This job is based in Olean, New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
