Perform Materials mechanical testing / evaluation and support R&D materials engineering projects while maintaining Siemens Energy Zero Harm culture
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Investigation of Siemens service component condition through visual and non-visual methods.
- Participate in failure analysis activities including, Failure/Fracture surface characterization identifying the locations and fracture modes.
- Microstructural characterization (optical, SEM, EDS/WDS, EBSD, etc.).
- Characterization of material systems for high performance applications (superalloys, high temperature metallic and ceramic coatings, intermetallic, stainless steel)
- Communication with internal and external customers. Writing of internal and external Technical Reports, presentations, purchase specifications, and process specifications.
- Define and lead project schedule and budget. Adhering to Siemens Energy Zero Harm principal is embedded in day-to-day responsibilities
What You Bring
- B.Sc. or equivalent experience in Engineering in Materials / Metallurgy is required. Higher education is a meaningful plus.
- Experience in hands-on mechanical property testing of materials proficiency; experience with MTS machines is preferable
- At least 5 years related successful experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Knowledge to perform HCF (High Cycle Fatigue) test, LCF (Low Cycle Fatigue) test, FCGR (Fatigue Crack Growth) test, Tensile test, TMF (Thermo Mechanical Fatigue) test, fracture mechanics
- Understanding of Gas Turbine coatings is preferred. Understanding of mechanical properties of materials.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as required. Proven ability to develop and convey thoughts clearly & concisely through both oral & written communication with people throughout a laboratory environment

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
