A Snapshot of Your Day

The Head of Field Service is a leadership role responsible for supervising the development, implementation, and management of Grid Technology Services Asia Pacific Field Service (GT SV AP FS) organization leading a diverse team of Field Service specialists, technical experts, site managers, and guiding them to achieve project execution targets relating to EHS, revenue and profit, quality, project timelines and customer satisfaction across the GT SV Asia Pacific region.

The focus will be on day-to-day operational topics supporting project implementation, resourcing, planning of outages, tools and devices required for our activities as well as on strategical development and growth of the Field Service Organization in Asia Pacific and the collaboration and integration into the global network and wider Siemens Energy community.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Part of the GT SV Asia Pacific management team, creating the transparency and driving the strategy & operational business of the Field Service organization within the region to achieve targets and financial critical metrics including acting as a governance and ensuring integration of the sub-regions (Pacific Team 1 and Pacific Team 2) into the Field Service processes.
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Field Service organization ensuring efficient and effective service delivery including:
  1. Strategic resource planning and deployment
  2. Providing engineering and technical support to all parts of the GT SV AP organization
  3. Ensuring fast support on site & remotely for Emergency cases
  4. Tactical and strategical development of the team’s capabilities and competence
  5. Operational and administrative resource and performance management,
  6. Utilization and optimization management,
  7. Motivating the team and cultivate open communication,
  8. Coordination of trainings and certification with and in factories / training centers and OJT
  9. Updating of our installed base technical data and carrying out equipment audits at customer sites
  10. Monitoring and analysis of key performance indicators to evaluate departmental performance and find opportunities for improvement.
  • Within a matrix organization, leading & developing the Field Service team and direct reports in the hub as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to coordinate resources, equipment, and logistics for field service projects including alignment between regional, local, and global teams on outage planning, resource deployment and capability development within the region.
  • Drive integration of GT SV AP Field Service organization into the relevant Siemens Energy Field Service Global and regional standards and communication, IT landscape, tools, systems, and processes.
  • Asset management and CAPEX planning for the team on relevant assets, tools, test equipment, consumables including strategic and operational planning and development.
  • Represent the organisation as face-to-the-customer and internal partners for resolving issues with field service delivery between customers and internal units
  • Establish close contact and professional relationships with local contractors and evaluate / develop the potential as preferred suppliers / business partners.
  • Build a positive HSE and Quality culture within the wider team, partner and customer organizations through engagements with HSE, pro-active problem solving and reporting.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading teams, projects, and budgets with experience in running Field Service operations and resource build up and allocation.
  • Proven experience and excellent knowledge in the energy sector (including regulatory, environment, safety standards, industry trends), with a focus on grid technologies (High Voltage Systems) and services required.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant on-site, sales, project and back-office processes, standards, and requirements, bold to challenge the Status Quo, and implement best-in-class solutions in a diverse, multinational professional environment.
  • Work experience in an engineering role or as a site / field service technical expert would be beneficial.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Positive attitude to work in challenging environment
  • Understands cultural differences and copes with them effectively to build strong relationships.
  • Strong competence in using IT Tools including Microsoft Suite (e.g. Excel, Projects), SAP, and Salesforce applications.
  • Professional English required, where additional Asian languages will be a benefit.
  • Willing to travel frequently within the Asian Pacific region and from time-to-time to Europe / Internationally
