How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Day to day management and execution of all aspects of P&C testing and commissioning on assigned projects.
  • Prepare protection system specifications and perform protection relay programming & configuration.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance tests for protection systems.
  • Perform Site Acceptance Test and Commissioning for Protections systems.
  • Responsible for coordinating a team of commissioning professionals at site, which may include a mix of both internal and external, trade and engineering backgrounds.
  • Develop and supervise execution of the protection commissioning process, adapt standard commissioning plans and procedures to project specific requirements.
  • Develop work instructions and scope of work for protection commissioning activities.
  • Review test results for C&P scope submitted by 3rd party companies.
  • Work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements.
  • Ensure work is completed according to applicable industry standards, client requirements, and processes.
  • Responsibility to comply and / or enforce the protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality).
  • Supervise team members and contractors at site.
  • Flexibility to travel locally and internationally to customer meetings and to project sites. Approximate travel is 40%.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of professional experience in the substation engineering and commissioning industry
  • University Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Experience in substation protection and control testing.
  • Experience configuring and commissioning SEL/GE Relays/Siemens/IEDs
  • Experience with ATS NETA testing Specifications.
  • Strong understanding of high voltage substation components including function, operation, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with communication equipment typically used in substations.
  • Solid understanding of protective relaying, end to end testing, equipment wiring diagrams, AC & DC schematics, communication schematics, and AC & DC load distribution.
  • Experience with AC/DC power system commissioning.
  • Experience with Omicron and Double Testing Device
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
