A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Engineering Intern in the Siemens Energy – Wind Power (SGRE) Materials Laboratory team in Brande, you will become part of a versatile and highly skilled group of experts within metallurgy and failure analysis. You will work closely with specialists across different locations and contributing to laboratory testing, analysis, and characterization of metallic components. The role offers hands-on experience and broad exposure within materials engineering in a large international organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations of metallic components
- Assist metallurgists and specialists with daily laboratory tasks
- Work with metallurgy, surface wear, and material characterization
- Support maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and related machinery
- Contribute to testing, analysis, and understanding of component performance
What You Bring
- Educational background within Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or similar (BSc, BE, ME, or MSc)
- Experience or familiarity with metallurgical equipment such as LOM, SEM, XRD, OES, 3D optical profilometer, and hardness measurements
- Knowledge of steelmaking and steel characterization is an advantage
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across departments in a large international organization
- Ability to work independently and drive your own assignments
- Open-minded, flexible, and positive mindset with a determined and persistent approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English, both written and spoken
About the Team
The Materials Laboratory team works across multiple locations and focuses on testing and characterization of both metal- and polymer-based materials. The team strives to improve understanding of components through development of test procedures, advanced characterization methods, and close collaboration across disciplines.
