A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Engineer Rotor Dynamics (f/m/d), you will handle the rotor dynamic design of turbo compressors, collaborating closely with departments like thermodynamics, sales, and testing. The role involves tailoring each machine to customer needs and maintaining high quality through international teamwork.

Your afternoons will for example include meetings with the sales department to develop machine concepts and ensure rotor dynamic solutions. Flexibility is key, as issues arise unexpectedly. You will partner with the local factory test team to support non-conformance investigations, requiring creativity and expertise in analyzing machine data and defining corrective measures.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Completion of the rotor dynamic design of single-shaft and geared turbo compressors and compressor trains (lateral vibration and torsional analysis)
  • Checking the mechanical design of rotor parts, such as impeller strength, impeller dynamics and impeller shrinkage design
  • Internal and external documentation of calculation results
  • Clarification of technical aspects with customers and subcontractors, e.g. as part of design reviews
  • Developing sophisticated, competitive solutions in collaboration with partners (e.g. sales)
  • Support with troubleshooting during testing and at the installation site worldwide with regard to the rotor and machine dynamics of all compressor train components
What You Bring
  • A completed Master's or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a specialization in turbomachinery or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in the area of turbomachinery with a focus on rotor and/or machine dynamics, as well as familiarity with standards and regulations of turbo compressors is desirable
  • Ideally technical background in the testing and commissioning of turbomachinery
  • Skilled in operating drive machines (gas turbines, steam turbines, e-engines) and proficient in software and data analysis tools like Excel and Word.
  • Excellent team and social skills on a global level
  • Proficiency in German and English
