A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

Machinists start by reviewing work orders, engineering drawings, and other project specifications to understand the dimensions, materials, and tolerances required for the job. If a job is already set up the machinist will begin by reviewing the notes from the previous shift. Machinists monitor the machine’s progress throughout the day and regularly inspect and measure the finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Machinists are responsible for meeting cycle time, routine maintenance and keeping their work area clean.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

• Must demonstrate the ability to proficiently pre-set tooling
• Set-up previously developed jobs for gas and steam airfoil components
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment
•  Perform machining operations to ensure work is completed in a timely manner in accordance with Time Standards and/or Target Expectations
• Use computer system to access and enter data; complete all necessary paperwork

What You Bring (requirements)

• Equivalent to a high school education is acceptable, A.A.S. Degree in Machining Technology, or its equivalent experience preferred
• Milling and CNC experience of 5 years
• Must have the ability to operate CMM and understand how to read/make adjustments based on CMM reports
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
