A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Bid Manager, you will play a key role in the preparation of Technical and Commercial Proposals for New Equipment. You will also be involved in supporting the organization in project closing and Client opportunity discussions.
You will develop technical solutions using Siemens Energy application tools and processes. In addition, you will also develop commercial offerings within the pricing guidelines and commercial governance requirements of Siemens Energy. This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a global team that develops technical solutions and written proposals that meet or exceed client requirements, position us favorably against our competition, resulting in winning new business for Siemens Energy to develop revenue that directly impacts business growth.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Review and interpret client requisitions and specifications for new equipment in Energy, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical markets.
- Develop equipment selections using Siemens Energy’s aerodynamic, thermodynamic, and material selection tools.
- Lead Bid Strategy discussions, providing insights on the technical and value advantages of Siemens Energy offerings.
- Prepare and negotiate sub-vendor buyout RFQs to create beneficial client solutions.
- Collaborate with various departments to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure timely proposal submissions.
- Conduct client meetings, support project presentations, and maintain high ethical standards in all business affairs.
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Petrochemical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent work experience; additional industry experience may qualify for a higher level. Candidates currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or relevant field) with an expected graduation date prior to 01 January 2026 are also eligible and can apply.
- Relevant experience in roles such as Application/Proposals Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Project Engineer, with a focus on turbomachinery or rotating equipment is preferred. Those with more experience may be considered for a higher level.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and maintain client awareness.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% globally for project presentations, bid clarifications, and training, proficiency in Microsoft programs and engineering software.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), LNG (Liquified Natural Gas), or EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) experience.
- Understanding of pricing, costing and equipment selection.
- Knowledge of commercial or technical bidding or quoting.
- International experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish, German, Portuguese, or Chinese.
