A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Winding Assembler, you will be responsible for performing final finishing of oil filled transformer windings, carrying out the assembly of the winding blocks and the documentation and quality checks of the process. This position is designed for someone who brings a blend of technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality compliance. As you progress in your job role, you would be able to support us in growing the department by assisting in the training and development of new hires in the organization.
This role will be based at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Manufacturing Center Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The facility is planned to be built by early 2026 for production commencement. Consequently, the first part of the journey in this role in our Company will involve overseeing the construction of the factory and the implementation of new processes, as well as leading the development of a high-performance team and coordinating all aspects of the factory setup to prepare for production.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Performing final finishing of transformer windings and carrying out the assembly of the winding blocks and planning and reviewing the tasks to be carried out according to pre-established production plan and manufacturing standards
- Validating the alignment of the windings within the required tolerances and performing any correction, if required
- Performing measurements and quality inspections for winding blocks including reviewing the tolerances in accordance with technical requirements
- Supporting in developing and maintaining the documentation of technical instructions for the winding assembly procedures
- Responsible to fulfill and/or to support to fulfill all protocols, policies, guidelines, and competences coming from all current system [EHS, QA, CyberSec, etc.].
What You Bring
- High school degree or equivalent with relevant technical training/experience with a min 2 years of experience in the winding block assembly process for transformers. specifically, 150MVA/138KV.
- Applicant must acquire Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community college.
- Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain Forklift License and a Critical Lift level crane license and certification for working in heights.
- Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
- Must be willing to relocate temporarily to Mexico or Brazil for on-the-job training for a period of 6 months or more based on the proficiency in the area of training. Appropriate relocation support and compensation will be provided.
