As a Secondary Structure (SST) Platform Chief Engineer at Siemens Gamesa, your day revolves around driving the development of tower internals primarily for our Onshore wind turbine platforms. You work closely with a global network of engineers, technology owners and stakeholders to shape technical solutions that improve safety, performance and cost. Through workshops, technical reviews and daily collaboration, you play a key role in turning innovative concepts into robust, industrialized tower and foundation solutions that support the energy transition.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Drive the development of tower internals by ensuring the right technologies, products and solutions are developed and optimally integrated into Onshore Wind Turbine towers
- Provide technical input to turbine scoping and contribute to defining and executing the technical roadmap for Tower Internals
- Lead technical workshops and stakeholder alignment sessions to define and validate new installation, maintenance and cost‑out concepts
- Steer the overall tower internals integration, layout and design concepts, including review and validation of key requirements, loads and verification approaches to optimize safety, cost and performance
- Act as the technical authority for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 8D activities related to tower internals
- Define, enforce and harmonize technical requirements, specifications and quality standards across platforms in close collaboration with Technology Owners
- Perform high‑level quality reviews of key deliverables including FEA reports, technical drawings, BoMs and work instruction and coach engineers by providing technical guidance and supporting capability building across the Tower Internals teams
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering combined with solid experience in product development or engineering
- Several years of hands‑on experience solving complex technical challenges in an international and cross‑functional environment
- A self‑driven and motivated mindset with the ability to innovate and collaborate effectively in a global team
- Cross‑disciplinary understanding of the tower internals design process and its value chain is beneficial
- Proven experience in technical leadership, including mentoring and supporting the development of other engineers
- A systematic and well‑organized working approach, with the ability to maintain overview and make informed decisions based on known risks and data
- Strong communication and coordination skills, proficiency in English, and flexibility to work independently, in teams, and travel occasionally

You will join an experienced and highly skilled engineering community working with Wind Turbine Tower and Foundation development within Siemens Gamesa’s Onshore technology organization. The team operates across platforms and locations, sharing knowledge, driving harmonization and continuously improving technical solutions to support safe, scalable and cost‑efficient wind energy.
