A Snapshot of Your Day

As Grid Technology Product Management, we are developing digitally enabled solutions and products, including hardware and software, for high voltage energy transition applications like High Voltage Switchgears, Transformers, and Composite Insulators & Surge Arresters. Currently, our development process is split into silos, with hardware following a waterfall approach and software utilizing agile principles. Recently, we designed an Agile Operating Model based on the SAFe framework to integrate hardware and software into a cohesive end-to-end agile development value stream.

This model consists of three levels. At the strategic level, we plan and prioritize initiatives with 12+ month horizon through a portfolio epic roadmap, defined and prioritized by product managers. The tactical level focuses on organizing and prioritizing ART epics for a one-year horizon and ART features with a maximum duration of 12 weeks, to be delivered within one Planning Interval. The operational level – the team level - involves planning and executing User Stories and Tasks within a sprint, using Scrum methodologies. This integrated approach aims to enhance our development efficiency and responsiveness to market demands.

In your new role as a Release (Train) Engineer you will be responsible for the overall team performance on tactical level. You enable the maximum performance of our multiple teams, remove overall impediments, and ensure high discipline and consequence in agile working throughout our agile team organization, the Agile Release Train (ART).

  • Oversee the activities of the Agile Release Train (ART) and ensure that teams are working collaboratively towards shared objectives and removing obstacles.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks and dependencies across teams to ensure smooth delivery of features and capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, byfacilitating engaging retrospectives and implement feedback mechanisms that empower teams to enhance their performance and achieve excellence.
  • Provide regular updates on ART progress, including metrics and performance indicators, to stakeholders and leadership.
  • As a champion of SAFe principles and practices, you’ll advocate for agile methodologies, ensuring that the ART adheres to best practices and continuously evolves to meet the demands of a fast-paced environment
  • With your profound knowledge and expertise you contribute to the Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) to enable relentless improvement of the overall agile organization
