A Snapshot of Your Day 

Most days will be spent working on various activities on rotating equipment maintenance for units such as Steam turbines, centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, valves, and their components like rotors, diaphragms, bearings etc. You will be involved in all activities related to the OEM units, such as visual inspection, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, documenting the findings in inspection forms both in paper and digital, balancing of the components, assembly, and packaging of the unit as instructed by a lead Journeymen Millwright.

Safety is the priority at Siemens Energy, each morning starts with a mandatory group safety meeting, it is a must to adhere to all the safety rules set forth by the company. Also, we keep our shop clean and well-maintained, so your work area must be kept clean before we leave for the day.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Execute mechanical millwright/machinist work under the leadership of a Siemens Energy Lead hand, Technician, or Representative.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and report all near misses and incidents to EHS Management
  • Provide clear and concise data to add to technical reporting and accurately record information into appropriate forms.

What You Bring  

  • Experience with strip/rebuild of rotating mechanical equipment, knowledge of associated equipment, and auxiliary systems.
  • Perform the mechanical duties involved with disassembly, inspection, maintenance repair, and reassembly for Siemens Energy OEM product lines of steam and gas turbines and compressors.
  • Balancing of the rotors using low-speed balance machines.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Red Seal Journeyman Millwright/Machinist certificate or second/third/fourth-year apprentice with high interest in working with hand tools independently or with a crew, and physical ability to lift 20 kgs.
  • experience with low-speed balancing of the rotors is an asset.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and publications and ability to make accurate calculations.
