O roli
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Material Engineer at our Material Laboratory, you will have the opportunity to do hands-on work with our components and super alloys. You will conduct comprehensive studies on the microstructure and material properties of metallic materials relevant to gas turbine applications and interpret the results accordingly.
In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, contributing to the development of advanced production technologies and material standards. Your work will play a key role in improving processes and supporting our mission to deliver high-quality energy solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Conduct comprehensive studies on the metallurgical and mechanical testing properties of metallic materials relevant to gas turbine applications.
- Execute and interpret results from materials testing (e.g., mechanical, chemical, microstructural) to ensure conformance to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Author detailed technical reports and documentation summarizing research findings, test results, and investigation outcomes.
- Research and develop new or improved materials and processing methods to enhance component performance, durability, and reliability.
- Provide recommendations on material selection and processing to support design, manufacturing, and service engineering teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to integrate new material solutions into product development cycles and address production-related challenges.
- Ensure all laboratory and testing activities comply with internal quality, cost, and safety standards.
What You Bring
- A master’s degree (or equivalent) in Materials Science or Engineering, with approximately 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Strong expertise in metallurgy, mechanical testing, and material characterization.
- Experience with LOM (Light Optical Microscope), sample preparation and SEM
- Proficiency in materials production methods such as welding, milling, turning, drilling, EDM, and other manufacturing techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Curiosity and an interest in process development of our material testing.
- Fluency in English, (Swedish skills is a plus).
- Knowledge of gas turbine components and coatings is a plus

Join our Materials Testing and Development department, housed in a dedicated building with modern facilities, including mechanical testing laboratories and a fully equipped metallographic lab. Our team consists of 15 skilled professionals from diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive culture and a shared passion for materials technology. Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators.
