A Snapshot of Your Day
Most days will be spent executing repairs on various components of rotating equipment such as Steam turbines, centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, valves, rotors, diaphragms, bearings and all associated parts. You will be involved in all activities related to machining and manufacturing of parts and equipment, including planning, quality checks and packaging of the unit as instructed by a lead or supervisor.
At Siemens Energy, each morning begins with a mandatory group safety meeting, it is necessary to adhere to all the safety rules established by the company. Also, cleanliness and maintenance are crucial to our operation, so all equipment and workspaces must be clean and well-maintained.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Perform machinist tasks under the leadership of a Siemens Energy Lead hand, technician, or Representative.
- Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and report all near misses and incidents to EHS Management.
- Provide clear and concise data for technical reporting and accurately record information on appropriate forms.
What You Bring
- Experience operating all types of manual equipment such as Lathes, Milling machines and Boring Mills. Additionally, programming and operating CNC machines would be an asset.
- Perform the duties involved with repair and manufacturing of parts at a high level of quality and precision.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Self-motivated, organized and detail oriented.
- Red Seal Journeyman Machinist certificate or third/fourth-year apprentice.
- Read and understand technical drawings and publications with the ability to make accurate calculations.
- Able to lift and handle materials weighing up to 20 kgs.

Siemens Energy Edmonton Service Center is a partner to the oil and gas, chemical, and other industries in the western Canada region for their energy needs. The shop has client client-focused team which includes millwrights on the floor, project managers, repair engineers, and support function staff. Highly motivated and positive thinking is the strength of the team and that makes a shop a great place to work.
