A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Insulation Parts Assembler, you will be responsible for insulating various parts of the transformer such as angle rings, cylinders, etc. using paper insulation. This position is crafted for someone who brings a blend of technical expertise and a dedication to safety and quality compliance. As you progress in your job role, you would be able to support us in growing the department by assisting in the training and development of new hires in the organization.

This role will be based at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Manufacturing Center Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The facility is planned to be built by early 2026 for production commencement. Consequently, the first part of the journey in this role in our Company will involve overseeing the construction of the factory and the implementation of new processes, as well as leading the development of a high-performance team and coordinating all aspects of the factory setup to prepare for production.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform insulation of various small transformer components and parts of current transformers.
  • Interpret technical drawings to determine insulation requirements, including type of paper, thickness, and overlap.
  • Prepare all vital insulation materials for the process.
  • Inspect conductor material for sharp edges or deformities before starting the insulation process, and measure and evaluate process at specific stages to ensure correct tolerances.
  • Conduct final inspections and quality checks to meet technical requirements and standards.

What You Bring

  • High school degree or equivalent with relevant technical training/experience. Min 2 years of experience in the insulation of transformer parts or of similar electrical equipment
  • Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain Forklift License and a Critical Lift level crane license and certification for working in heights.
  • Applicant must obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community college.
  • Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
  • Must be willing to relocate temporarily to Mexico or Brazil for on-the-job training for a period of 3 months or more based on the proficiency in the area of training. Appropriate relocation support and compensation will be provided.
