A Snapshot of Your Day
As a HVDC Operator, you will focus on ensuring the safe and reliable operation of high-voltage direct current assets in alignment with the Asset Owner’s Commercial Policy. Your responsibilities include providing exceptional customer support through both planned and reactive maintenance activities, adhering to our contractual obligations. You prioritize efficient and safe execution of all tasks, meticulously keeping records up to date to reflect our operations. Additionally, you are committed to upholding all Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) standards, as well as complying with Siemens Energy processes and procedures, to maintain the highest level of operational integrity.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Manage asset operations from the control room, including alarm management and initial investigations.
- Perform emergency response activities and control room duties while manually enacting commercial limitations in the HVDC System.
- Conduct initial plant investigations using alarms and fault records, ensuring compliance with Work Specifications and Health & Safety regulations.
- Assist in developing processes to enhance service quality and ensure a safe working environment with necessary documentation like Risk Assessments.
- Participate in a 24/7 operator shift rota, providing flexible support to team members and being authorized under Siemens Energy safety rules.
- Investigate and rectify faults, preparing reports to meet QA and customer requirements, while ensuring maintenance documentation is completed in the Management System.
- Provide technical and advisory support to staff in areas of expertise, and undertake necessary training for development.
- Abide by business compliance requirements and promote continual improvement in asset policies related to health, safety, environment, and security.
What You Bring
- Formal qualification to HNC level is desirable but not essential.
- Authorization under HV safety rules is desirable but not essential.
- Proficient in IT literacy, including MS Office and MS Project.
- French language skills are beneficial but not essential.
- Experience in a maintenance environment, particularly in industrial sites or electrical substations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and Risk Management Processes.
