A Snapshot of Your Day
The day of a Safety Supervisor includes:
- Participate in the daily meeting with production supervisors.
- Discuss any recent incidents or safety concerns.
- Conducting a walk through the plant to verify safety conditions.
- Interact with workers, promoting our zero harm culture.
- Review status of outstanding corrective actions from previous inspections.
- Coordinate with maintenance to address identified safety issues.
- Review weekly/monthly safety statistics.
- Prepare a report to EHS management on safety trends.
- Conduct training session for new employees on safety procedures.
- Update safety documentation.
- Participate in a meeting on a new logistics or production process, providing safety perspectives (change management).
- Perform a final quick walk-through of critical areas of the plant.
Flexibility is key in this role, as emergencies or safety issues may require immediate attention at any time.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Identify and follow up on compliance with applicable national and international EHS legal requirements.
- Conduct regular plant walk-throughs to identify potential hazards and verify compliance with safety standards.
- Identify, evaluate and manage risks associated with production lines and offices, in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team. As well as, establish operational controls in accordance with the hierarchy of controls.
- Ensure that the maintenance program for machinery and vehicles is defined, implemented and complied with.
- Follow up the Safety Program, as well as provide technical support in the derived activities.
- Manage the change of processes from a Safety perspective.
- Ensure that all incidents are investigated and recorded, and that appropriate measures are defined, implemented and monitored.
- Manage and ensure the training program and organize and conduct safety induction.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and define corrective actions.
- Provide weekly EHS reports of new projects and change management to the BU EHS Coordinator.
- Implement safety technology in logistics and shop floor.
- Digitize EHS processes (EHS 4.0 digital transformation measures).
- Contribute to the generation of Zero Harm Culture (EHS Siemens Energy).
- Comply and/or enforce compliance with protocols, policies, guidelines and competencies of the current integrated management system (EHS).
What You Bring
- Safety Engineer with a degree in Logistics, Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Safety Engineer in the manufacturing industry, experience in management with interdisciplinary teams, with technical knowledge in behavior based safety, continuous improvement, 45001, Mexican safety regulations, international standards and preferably with knowledge of European Safety legal requirements.
- English-intermediate language and with communication, leadership, teamwork and analytical skills.
About the Team
The Safety Engineer will report directly to the EHS Manager of the Guanajuato plant. His/her main duties will be to develop a culture of preventive safety and safe behaviors in the production area. With shift rotation in order to maintain safety in night shifts.
