A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Local PE COR, you will ensure the fulfillment of tax and accounting requirements in accordance with Local GAAP for Siemens Energy projects in Iraq. You will collaborate with project commercials in Germany and UAE, as well as the local accounting team in Egypt, to collect and validate data while ensuring compliance with reporting standards. You will also lead audits, coordinate tax declarations (monthly, quarterly, and yearly), and partner with local tax experts to ensure full compliance with Iraqi laws and regulations.

How You Will Make an Impact

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Coordinate the periodic financial reporting for Siemens Energy Iraq Branch, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with Local GAAP.
• Review and analyze monthly and annual branch accounts, discussing key insights with HQ, Branch teams, and the Head of Finance.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax laws, working closely with internal and external auditors.
• Lead local audits and handle communications with local tax experts for tax filings and declarations.
• Apply SAP B1 for leading accounting data and ensuring seamless financial processing.

Partner Collaboration

• Work closely with the Commercial Project Team, Local Accounting Team in Egypt, and PEC Supervision Middle East to streamline financial processes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for finance-related questions from collaborators in various regions.
• Proactively identify and address process inefficiencies to improve accounting operations.

Tax & Legal Compliance

• Coordinate with local tax authorities to ensure all tax declarations (monthly, quarterly, and yearly) meet regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated on Iraqi tax and financial regulations to maintain full compliance.
• Provide mentorship and consultation on Local GAAP to project commercials in Germany and UAE.

Process Optimization & Risk Management

• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in financial processes and recommend improvements.
• Support risk assessments and internal control measures to ensure financial integrity.
• Aligning financial processes with Siemens Energy global policies and local regulations.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, tax compliance, and accounting.
• Strong understanding of Local GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations in Iraq.
• Experience working with SAP B1 or similar ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Actively improving processes for optimization.
• Proficient in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
