A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Appointed Regional Technical Lead at Siemens Energy Wind Power, your day will be filled with exciting challenges and opportunities. You will be the representative for Control of Hazardous Energies (CoHE) on Offshore (OF) Construction sites, ensuring that all safety procedures and regulations are strictly followed. Your role will involve coordinating the implementation and maintenance of these procedures, prioritizing the safety of employees, customers, and the public. You will ensure compliance with company standards and country specific laws, particularly in relation to electrical, hydraulic and mechanical movement.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Appointed by the National Offshore Managing Director or similar as well as the Global Head of Offshore Hazardous Energy LV.
  • Assume technical and legal responsibility for Hazardous Energy LV in Offshore Construction.
  • Coordinate Control of Hazardous Energy in different Business Units (Service/Onshore/Plant) within your region.
  • Represent Siemens Gamesa as a CoHE specialist in interactions with authorities regarding Offshore construction.
  • Report functionally to the Global Head of Hazardous Energies Group within the Siemens Gamesa organizational matrix.
  • Contribute to establishing globalized working methods and ensure personnel have accurate electrical competence levels.
  • Fully cover the roles and responsibilities as project(s) Lead Nominated Person (LNP).
  • Ensure processes align with relevant legislation and Siemens Gamesa internal regulations, applying global standardization to the highest possible extent.
  • Monitor daily Offshore CoHE activities and support the global organization in crafting and implementing effective CoHE procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with project teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure safe and effective task execution.
  • Conduct Lockout/Tag-out procedural training and Nomination of LoTo OCs/WCs, Electrical Skilled Persons, and Non-electrical Skilled Persons on construction projects.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external collaborators to clarify interfaces and responsibilities.
  • Assist in assessing CoHE proficiencies of all relevant staff/technicians.
  • Communicate and clarify complex technical issues, including energization procedures.
  • Review technical documentation, such as work instructions and electrical/hydraulic diagrams.
  • Ensure work execution aligns with relevant legislation and Siemens Gamesa internal regulations.
  • Contribute to reviewing processes, procedures, and safe systems of work for subcontractors.
  • Conduct inspections of safe systems of work as required.
  • Conduct detailed technical investigations into electrical safety issues reported by project teams.
  • Mentor and coach Lead Nominated Persons.
  • Support the Global Head of Hazardous Energy HV and LV in developing strategies for controlling hazardous energies.
  • Support business optimization, identification of new potentials, and trends.
  • Assist in interviewing potential staff within the ENR team and CSR when requested.
  • Conduct peer reviews of all Project Technical Plans (PTP) as a subject matter specialist within the CDRB working group.
  • Nominate electrical skilled persons and supervise Offshore control of hazardous energies in relation to country nomination project portfolios.
  • Delegate work scope to appointed nominated persons on-site, ensuring they are fully briefed on site-specific aspects.
  • Lead and control the regional electrical safety organization, fulfilling internal and country-specific requirements for Low Voltage as the electrically responsible person.
  • Provide additional rules for electrical safety in your area.
  • Sign CoHE documents for third parties, especially those requested by local authorities, and represent Siemens Gamesa as a CoHE specialist for Offshore construction issues.

What You Bring

  • Electrical Engineering degree in Electrical Power, Power System, or Power Electronics.
  • Level A Certificates / Professional Electrical Engineer covering all voltage levels in Taiwan.
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain LOTO procedures.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
