About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
We are at the forefront of transformer manufacturing in an era of energy transition, seeking an adept Head of Procurement to take the helm at our transformer factory and lead procurement strategy across our specialized R&T (Renewables & Traction) cluster. In this role, you will oversee procurement activities for a diverse product range, focusing on small series production up to several hundred units annually, with a total capacity of approximately 4,000 transformers per year across all three factories.
Your mission will be to cultivate a resilient and competitive supply chain that is critical to our high-performance factories and competitive product offerings. In a world where materials and components constitute over 60% of total costs, your strategic leadership will ensure cost competitiveness and uninterrupted supply, even amidst disruptions such as material shortages and logistical challenges.
As the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for fostering a proactive, collaborative, and unified team capable of navigating the dynamic demands of the electrical equipment market, while aligning short-term actions with our long-term strategic vision.
In this role, you will report directly to the Vice President of Renewables and Traction Transformers as part of the Cluster R&T Leadership team. Additionally, you will be a member of the site leadership team for one of the R&T cluster factories, reporting to the respective factory management.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and develop the procurement organization in one of the cluster R&T factories directly reporting to you. Lead and develop the procurement organization of the other two cluster R&T factories with their respective local Head of Procurement directly reporting to you.
- Direct strategic procurement operations at the cluster level, refining supplier strategies and optimizing procurement tactics.
- Collaborate with global procurement teams to align strategies for global suppliers, implement cluster procurement strategies and drive standardization programs.
- Handle relationships with internal stakeholders and coordinate with various departments.
- Manage suppliers, maintain relationships with local and global collaborators and negotiate supplier contracts and manage claims effectively.
- Manage SAP Hana and multiple Ecosystem implementations, supporting the distributed team and improving processes.
What You Bring
- Proven leadership experience with a collaborative approach, capable of unifying diverse and global teams towards common goals.
- Strong background in procurement within the manufacturing sector, preferably in electrical equipment or related industries.
- Fluency in both English and German is a must
- Excellent negotiation, strategic planning, and supplier management skills.
- Familiarity with global supply chain dynamics, including geopolitical risks, local content, and sustainability considerations.
- Experience in managing and implementing ERP systems, particularly SAP Hana.

At Siemens Energy we offer competitive compensation and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. Due to the Austrian legal regulations, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Please note that there is a clear willingness for a higher compensation considering your individual expectations, expertise and skills. The minimum salary for this position in the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry is in the amount of 95.000,00 € gross/year for a full-time position (38,5 h/week).
