A Snapshot of Your Day 

 

Your day as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Transformer Service department begins with a brief team meeting to discuss the status of ongoing and upcoming projects, during which tasks are assigned. Following this, you will develop technical solutions for repair and service projects using the PTC Creo CAD tool to create models, drawings and parts lists. You will also hold regular meetings with other stakeholders, such as project management, work preparation and purchasing department, to ensure the successful execution of projects. How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Use 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, PTC Creo) to model assemblies and individual parts and generate engineering drawings and bills of material
  • Prepare ordering specifications for components and materials
  • Understand customer specifications, project requirements, prepare design review documents and technical reports for the customer
  • Collaborate with other departments like sales, electrical design, manufacturing, quality, testing & service departments on technical topics related to mechanical design
  • Collaborate with other Siemens Energy transformer factories for further product enhancements


What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering with 3 or more years of experience in the field of power transformers or other electrical machines
  • Experienced user of 3D CAD software (e.g. CREO/ProEngineer/Inventor), PDM software (e.g. PDM Link/Teamcenter), 2D CAD (e.g. AUTOCAD) and software tools to create Bill of materials (e.g. SAP)
  • Technical understanding and creativity with an analytical competence and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Self-motivated to produce high quality results within the time allocated, with limited supervision and good experience of working with Global Engineering teams in project execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in German and good knowledge in English is necessary
