How You’ll Make an Impact
- The tactical responsibilities include improvement of competitiveness and profitability of Siemens Energy business through brand new Cost and Value Engineering methods and expertise e.g. TcPCM / aPriori / other tools for Should Costing, MLPP, CBD. You achieve cost transparency for in-house manufacturing as well as 3rd party scopes.
- The strategic responsibilities include supporting the overall Design-to-Cost DtC or R&D Product Development Process (PDP) to ensure new products are designed at efficient cost while meeting quality targets. Activities include efficiency project creation and report management, innovation team leadership, design for manufacturing methodology leadership, and voice of the customer analysis.
- Deliver should costing, supplier offer analysis and willingness to find most important cost drivers
- Build and collect new cost-out ideas for Siemens Energy portfolio, participating in multi-functional work stream.
- Ensure that product CVE initiatives/measures are being accurately established and supervised in the relevant product cost tracking software (PRIOneer).
- Support proposals teams to ensure all relevant cost measures not fully matured are being considered if appropriate, to guarantee the most efficient solutions.
- Facilitating and participating meetings at all levels of management up to and including the executive leadership team
What You Bring
- Graduate Engineer – BE Electrical
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as Application Engineer, Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Cost Engineer or similar
- Dedicated, proactive and willingness to do the extra-mile
- Experience in electrical equipment such as Generator, Motor, Transformer, Switchgear etc.
- Extensive proven understanding of how design, technical, automation, sourcing, and logistics decisions affect cost and/or schedule.
- MS Office Suite proficiency
- Proven knowledge within the fields of Innovative Design to Value, DtC, Customer Value and Cost-Analysis
