About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As the sun rises, you start your day by meticulously reviewing new requests, ensuring that every detail is accounted for before sending out Requests for Quotations (RfQs) to potential suppliers. Based on their responses, weighing out factors like cost, quality, and delivery times, you select the best suppliers to bring onboard.
Part of the day is spent in meetings with internal customers, such as Project Managers and workshop teams. These interactions are crucial, as they provide insights into the specific needs and challenges of each unique project. Your effective communication skills and ability to build positive relationships ensure that everyone agrees and works towards common goals.
If issues arise, your problem-solving skills come to the forefront. Whether it’s a delay in delivery or a discrepancy in product specifications, you tackle each problem head-on, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to find swift and effective solutions.
Managing On-Time Delivery (OTD) is a constant priority. You supervise the progress of orders together with Operational Buyer, ensuring that timelines are adhered to and any potential delays are addressed promptly.
As the day winds down, you reflect on the progress made and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow. Each day as a Commodity Buyer is dynamic and exciting, making a tangible impact on the company’s success!
