A Snapshot of Your Day
The Business Process Quality Team Leader leads and drives EHS, Quality, and Operational Excellence for Grid Technologies Substations in Malaysia, focusing on improving business processes and quality standards. The role combines process analysis, quality assurance, and project coordination, and is suited to an experienced professional with strong analytical skills and a background in process and quality improvement.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Quality Management System & Compliance: Manage and continuously improve the QMS to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and industry standards; oversee change control, audits, and certification preparation; establish data governance frameworks. Embed risk-based thinking across processes to proactively identify and mitigate quality risks.
- Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis: Lead cross-functional CI initiatives, conduct internal audits, perform in-depth root cause analysis, and drive CAPAs to enhance efficiency and quality outcomes across the organization.
- Quality Performance & Reporting: Establish and monitor KPIs and quality metrics; Prepare and deliver actionable insights through executive-level reporting on quality performance and risks, and project quality status; maintain audit-ready documentation for senior management. Own and drive the full Non-Conformance (NCC) lifecycle, including detection, containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and closure, while improving key performance metrics.
- Quality in Project Execution: Lead end-to-end project quality management by conducting risk assessments, defining quality requirements aligned with global initiatives, planning and executing quality activities across the project lifecycle, and ensuring deliverables meet defined criteria, industry standards, and continuous improvement objectives.
- Supplier Quality & Stakeholder Collaboration: Drive supplier quality performance through audits, qualification, and ongoing evaluation; develop supplier quality strategies with procurement, partner with PMs to integrate quality into schedules and budgets; and provide executive dashboards on risk and supplier performance.
- Team Leadership & Culture Building: Lead, coach, and develop junior professionals and teams, build capability and driving accountability in quality practices, auditing techniques, and CI methodologies; design training programs; promote a culture of prevention, transparency, and accountability.
What You Bring
- ISO Standards & Quality Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and QMS with proven experience conducting internal and supplier audits; strong understanding of audit methodologies and ability to interpret/apply standards across complex environments.
- Technical & Domain Knowledge: Solid substation construction expertise (AIS, transformers, breakers, MV/HV gas-insulated switchgear, BOP equipment); ability to translate technical complexity into quality requirements and risk assessments.
- Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication with proven ability to present complex quality concepts clearly to diverse audiences; capable of preparing executive-level reports and dashboards.
- Drive digitalization and optimization of quality processes using data analytics and reporting tools.
- Project Quality Leadership & Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 8+ years demonstrated experience in project quality management; proven track record leading large, complex projects with high autonomy and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Professional Attributes & Commitment to Excellence: Strong work ethic, continuous learning mindset, excellent organizational and time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and relevant quality certifications (preferred).
