As an Hardware Engineer (f/m/d) Power Electronics of Battery Storage Converters, every day is not the same in your multicultural team. You will be responsible with your colleagues for the development of the best-fit-solutions in Energy Storage for our global customers and make a significant contribution to the energy transition. With our Siemens Energy-wide collaboration, we combine various sustainable solutions to increase our customer happiness.
Therefore, you are the technical contact person for our customers to question their requirements and to provide custom-fit solutions, and the contact person to our suppliers for technical and commercial exchange on their offering. You will be responsible for the execution of technical reviews and the creation of necessary documentation.
Are you willing to take on the challenge of developing new battery storage applications and establish them effectively in the market?
- Specifying components and defining technical requirements in cooperation with suppliers
- Supporting the technical sales and tendering team and contributing to the standardization and improvement of our product families
- Preparing and/or review technical documentation, drawings, specifications of electrical components, systems as well as creating and maintaining detailed documentation of design, standards, and test procedures
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, software, product management, field installation, commissioning, electrical engineers, and services groups to integrate power electronic systems into solution and perform quality checks for all deliverables.
- Qualification on component, sub-system, and system level (converter power system and control system)
- Supporting risk assessments and safety concepts as well as align functional safety activities with customers and suppliers
- Specifying, carrying out and documenting a wide range of integration tests as well as planning and supervision of integration tests to ensure error-free function in the overall system
- Completed university degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics, ideally with a focus on power electronics or renewable energy systems.
- Professional experience in the field of power electronics projects, preferably in the areas of large scale battery storage or photovoltaics.
- Expert knowledge in electronic modules, including selection, qualification and lifetime consideration of components, preferably related to power electronics
- Familiarity with major BESS PCS suppliers in the market and their offerings
- Strong understanding of Industry standards (e.g IEC, UL) and grid interconnection requirements
- Fluent English skills, German is not mandatory but would be a plus
- Willingness to work in an agile development environment, a structured way of working, initiative, creativity, motivation, an quality orientation round off your profile
