A Snapshot of Your Day

 

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, developing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety within our organization. You will work closely with various departments to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible workplace, particularly focusing on electrical substation related projects.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

 
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations related to electrical works. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards. Support local company and local management in EHS activities, acting as consultant in EHS matters, participating in company audits and certification processes and driving improvements on a local company level
  • Conduct risk assessments for electrical substation operations and implement mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures. Inspect work sites to ensure working conditions are following OSHA standards and company policies
  • Conduct all accident, incident and near-miss investigations and recommend changes to management. Maintain records of incidents and ensure proper reporting in accordance to with legislation
  • Monitor environmental impacts and ensure compliance with regulations, focusing on waste management and pollution prevention
  • Work with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to promote safety and environmental stewardship, liaising with regulatory agencies as needed
  • Stay updated on EHS best practices and recommend policy improvements based on industry trends
 

What You Bring 

 
  • EHS bachelor's degree occupational and safety. A master’s degree and experience in electrical substations is a plus.
  • 5-7 years of experience in EHS roles, focusing on electrical substations or similar environments, with a proven track record in developing EHS programs
  • Safety at Work training (as per Croatian labor law), professional exam for occupational safety specialist (general and special part)
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
  • Professional exam for fire protection (any level)
  • Internal Auditor ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is a plus
  • Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (ESCP) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. Proficient in risk assessment and incident investigation
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to ongoing training in EHS practices and regulations
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina as required
