A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Study Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will be an integral part of our decarbonization mission by ensuring requirements are fulfilled and targets are met. Conducting network studies and contributing to the control teams by validating results in software and hardware is part of your day-to-day. By closely monitoring the quality of deliverables, you are ensuring they are in line with our project program and will improve the efficiency of our company on our path to building a more sustainable tomorrow.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Performing network and control studies for HVDC projects during offers and execution including Dynamic Performance and Interaction studies
  • Preparation and first validation of detailed simulation models for power systems, such as Matlab/Simulink, PSCAD/EMTDC
  • Perform computer simulations
  • Study dynamic behavior of HVDC control systems
  • Parametrizing HVDC control system functions
  • Analyzing potential interactions between the HVDC converter and other power electronic devices in the power system via EMT simulation models
  • Presenting study results to project team on the developed simulation models and explaining their documentation
What You Bring
  • University degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in electrical engineering, electrical power engineering or control engineering
  • Fundamentals in control system theory
  • Experience in power system simulation tools
  • Fluent English, ideally also German
  • Outstanding team skills and communication skills
