A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Field Service Senior Buyer, you will lead the procurement strategy for the EU & AF region, driving both strategic and operational procurement activities throughout the project management and sales phases. Your focus will be on optimizing service availability, quality, and overall contribution to the operating results. You will also serve as the key liaison between the operational and procurement teams to ensure seamless collaboration and project success.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Processes purchase requests by creating and releasing purchase orders to suppliers
  • Purchase order management, including tracking/expediting to ensure a cost-efficient supply of materials in accordance with demand
  • Ensures items are delivered on time and expedited where necessary
  • Communicates with suppliers concerning order-related items, such as delivery dates, and escalates risks to relevant stakeholders
  • Monitors supplier delivery and quality performance. Escalates findings to relevant stakeholders and addresses performance issues with suppliers as necessary
  • Maintains and updates supplier master data to ensure that the database accurate and up-to-date
  • Negotiates prices and payment terms (low-threshold transactions)
  • Demonstrates strong customer focus by handling requests in a timely manner with high quality standards
  • Communicates efficiently and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively seeks process optimization and improvement opportunities in relevant areas (e.g. MoQ optimization, bundling of purchase orders, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory procurement processes and regulations
  • Ensure early involvement and close cooperation with internal customers to deliver effective customer care
  • Develop and implement a local commodity strategy in coordination with global commodity experts, strengthening supplier relationships and acting as a resource for the local team
  • Oversee and monitor Field Service Procurement activities across the region, ensuring alignment with global strategies
  • Prepare and lead local commodity negotiations, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (ToCo) and savings, while presenting and reporting on negotiation outcomes
  • Manage country-specific Field Service Procurement activities and develop key relationships with suppliers for assigned commodities, acting as a local knowledge expert

What You Bring

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Field Service Buyer in an industrial setting, preferably within the energy sector
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including purchase-to-pay, supplier and material master data management, order confirmations, supplier quotations, client orders, and accounting
  • Proven ability to foster cross-functional collaboration and drive improvement initiatives
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of identifying and implementing opportunities for optimization
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and the application of Business Conduct Guidelines in daily operations

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, distinguish between symptoms and root causes, and recommend effective corrective actions
  • Open to new ideas, inclusive, and adaptable to change
  • Ability to make sound decisions that drive success
  • Strong customer-focused mindset
  • Proficiency in English is required; French or German is a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
