Siemens Energy Process & Safety Consulting business has an exciting opportunity for motivated Process Solutions Engineer to join our team and support the growth of our Americas business. The individual in this role will focus on conceptual design, process engineering studies, and verification of relief and flare systems. Through our solutions we help customers improve process safety, enable operations excellence and digitalization of their process safety information and workflows. The preferred location for this position is Houston, TX but would also consider other locations in the US.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Understand plant processes in Oil & Gas production, Refining, Petrochemical and Chemical industries.
  • Select and develop steady state and dynamic heat and material balances for design concepts and process modification using process simulation tools.
  • Interpret data from piping & instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams, plot plans, piping isometrics, mechanical design information, typical unit operation specifications and electrical one-line diagrams.
  • Research new processes and technologies to support renewable and new energy markets.

What You Bring 

  • 0-2 years of process engineering experience
  • BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical engineering a strong preference) from an accredited university
  • Experience in the area of upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas processes including refining and renewables is a plus.
  • Prior experience in plant operations is a plus.
  • As a federal contractor, Siemens Energy continues to monitor federal and state legal guidelines regarding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.   Siemens Energy is pausing its mandatory vaccine policy while the issue is addressed by the courts. The Process & Safety Consulting business provides consulting, engineering and software solutions. Through our solutions we help customers improve process safety, enable operations excellence and digitalization of their process safety information and workflows.

We specialize in conceptual design, process engineering studies, verification of the relief and flare systems, process risk assessments, reliability and mechanical integrity assessments, risk based inspection program development and implementation, process safety information verification and management, PSM compliance audits, Management of Change facilitation & workflow enablement.
