A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Mechanical Engineer based in Loveland, Colorado, you will be responsible for working with a team of talented engineers to design mechanical control elements related to Steam Turbine controls for power plants, which include actuators, trip blocks, instrument panels, turbine trip systems, etc. Post design, you will be participating in the building of these elements in the shop, testing internally and with customers and then participating in the installation and commissioning of these at various sites mainly in the US and Canada.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Strong Mechanical Engineering background
  • Design and engineer custom mechanical solutions for the turbine control system upgrade market (including high pressure hydraulic actuators, hydraulic power units, turbine protection systems, speed sensing kits, etc.)
  • Act as primary customer contact for technical issues throughout the life of a project
  • Perform start-up and commissioning services on new systems and occasional aftermarket field service on older systems
  • Assist with assembly/test activities and lead customer witness testing when applicable
  • Provide regular project updates to project manager and operations manager
  • Produce technical documentation for assigned projects and assist with creation of customer manuals
  • Participate in the proposal process on large projects

What You Bring

  • Experience with hydraulic engineering/design and/or structural engineering/design
  • Experience with turbomachinery equipment a plus
  • Experience with 3D mechanical design software a plus
  • Some prior experience of working hands on in a mechanical assembly shop preferred

This job is based in Loveland, Colorado. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here:  The base salary range for this position in Loveland, Colorado is $74,600.00 – $138,500.00 and the annual incentive target is 10% of base salary. 

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
