A Snap Shot of your Day:

You will be part of the global 8000H Product Development team that integrates technical activities for the development and advancement of the 8000H product for both 50Hz and 60Hz versions. The group is part of the global 8000H Product Engineering Team within Large gas turbine Engineering. Your morning conversations will focus on contributors in India and Germany while your afternoon communication will concentrate on contributors in United States. You and your team are networking with engineering of GT core engine and auxiliaries, with procurement/vendors and factory for new unit and service business. Furthermore, you will collaborate with testing and project management for commissioning of new engine versions, upgrades or improvements.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• You will support R&D and service projects as well as the running fleet for multiple frames with the main responsibilities for
• Core engine instrumentation.
• IGV/VGV actuation system.
• Engine configuration management.
• You and your team contribute to the efficient and effective solution of technical issues and related mitigation of the customer impact.
• You will go for an efficient combination of product cost and operational reliability and availability for achieving maximal profitability and customer happiness.

What You Bring

• University degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or a related field with minimum proven experience of 10-15 years’ demonstrated ability in a gas turbine development environment.
• Proven capability to lead R&D projects and supplier qualification
• Experience in core engine instrumentation for various international standards and multiple Frames
• Understanding of long-term impact of engineering activities on customer happiness, product service and business
• Proficient business English skills
• Experience with processes for product development, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning as well as risk management, product validation and technical issue resolution.

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
