A Snapshot of Your Day

In a normal day, you will perform the installation and configuration of Data Agents on distributed control systems used on our global feet of power plants. You will be responsible for technical matters concerning the automatic collection and transmission of I&C data. Through your work, you will make it possible for Siemens Energy customers and experts to access diagnostic information and implement corrective measures.

As an enabler of remote I&C monitoring, you will contribute to Siemens Energy’s strategic mission of keeping critical infrastructure safe while minimizing environmental impact.

Every day, you will have the opportunity to interact with customers from all over the world and be exposed to different cultures. You will be a member of an international team, spread across Germany, Hungary and Malaysia, where collaboration, mutual respect and willingness to achieve common goals are the core of our daily life.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will be responsible for the execution of Data Agent installation on a distributed control system (Omnivise T3000) unit to enable the implementation of I&C Monitors and Advisors (ICMA) services. Siemens Energy has developed a remote platform for monitoring and analyzing the operating status of power plants. Underlying this platform is the collection and upload of plant data to an AWS cloud which is performed automatically on a daily basis via Data Agents installed on the customer architecture. After collection and upload, data is analyzed and presented in the Siemens Energy Customer Portal.
  • You will be responsible for the execution of Tailored Patch Information (TPI) reports on Omnivise T3000 units. Siemens Energy provides its customers with reports in order to show the current status of the software installed on the components of an Omnivise T3000 architecture and suggest tailored corrective measures. Corrective measures consist of the installation of application, system and security patches, officially released and tested by Siemens Energy development.
  • You will be ultimately responsible for the remote I&C data acquisition for a growing fleet of over 400 power plants.
  • You will be the first point of contact for ICMA services for our customers on a global scale.
  • You will enable the implementation of remote services within the Siemens Energy portfolio.
  • You will help make energy systems up to date, less vulnerable and more reliable.

What You Bring

  • Solid technical skills in IT system administration, network topology & scripting.
  • Interest in working in the field of power plant computer architectures, consisting of servers, clients and network devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, etc.
  • Solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
  •  Enthusiasm and proactive attitude.
