A Snapshot of Your Day

Being responsible for our daily SIEAERO flight operations, your day is centered around organizing, technically planning and executing our data acquisition missions (UAV/Heli). This entails technically and logistically planning the missions, via accompanying (remotely or at site) the mission execution itself, to governing the post-mission equipment and data handover with our technicians. You are feeding back to our product development and process improvement groups what works well, what needs to improve and any ideas you have, that can help us getting better each day.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • You implement how we conduct inspection flights with our multi-sensor system with helicopters and drones to improve our customers’ processes and reduce their maintenance cost. Your focus area is to technically plan and then conduct the missions together with our aviation partners and service suppliers.
  • You hold the role of the Data Acquisition Project Manager - supporting and improving our data handling process from the moment the data is acquired in the field until it is ready for being processed by our AI analytics platform.
  • You are responsible for owning and continuously improving the mission planning and execution concept making sure that all partners work seamlessly, flawlessly and efficiently together and are as excited about our AI-based Service, as we are.
  • You qualify and train our SIEAERO sensor system operators and keep a close contact to them during mission execution and beyond. You conduct test flight campaigns and support defining these campaigns in alignment with our product development team.
  • You collaborate with our European and North American flight partners on trainings, technical certifications and other operational aviation-related duties.
  • You are able to execute smaller missions or test flights yourself as a Sensor Operator and act as technical support in case of technical difficulties during mission execution.
  • You share our vision and operationally support our team at the journey transferring from helicopter-based to large-scale BVLOS drone-based operations over the mid-term time horizon.
  • You live Siemens Energy’s Zero Harm Culture by implementing our Zero Harm standards and ensure our partners live the same standards.
What You Bring
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, IT, Aviation or similar.
  • Several years of experience in operational project management, especially mission design and execution within industrial field service, military or similar.
  • You are familiar to typical flight planning GIS-based software programs like QGIS and ideally you have experience in the UAV domain; further programming and debugging skills are a major plus.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in utility patrol type helicopter/UAV flights.
  • You have gained previous experience in volatile and fast-moving environments that require improvisation, taking ownership and responsibility and fast decision making under uncertainty.
  • You have an eagerness to learn and improve the way we do our business mission-by-mission, you don’t give up on rainy days – just like the rest of the team.
  • As you act in an international environment you bring fluent English language skills and are willing to travel internationally, potentially also for a short-term stay in North America. In addition, German language skills are preferred, further European language skills a plus.
