Want to help the energy transformation in the US?   Join SEI as a Nuclear Uprate Project Engineer where you will regularly meet with our nuclear generation customers, SEI engineering, projects and manufacturing to help ensure that our products and services conform to contractual requirements and exceed customer expectations.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

Candidate will report to one of the Nuclear Uprate Directors.  

Candidate is responsible for supporting the oversight of the engineering, manufacturing and project management of Nuclear Power Plant upgraded equipment, such as Low Pressure Turbines, High Pressure Turbines, Generators, exciters, etc.

The Nuclear Uprate Project Engineer will help schedule and discuss regular project reviews, factory testing, factory visitations and witness points. 

The Uprate Project Engineer will monitor Engineering, Manufacturing and Erection/Commissioning targets for each responsible uprate contract.     The Uprate Project Engineer will work in harmony with the SEI Major Projects Group PM to coordinate engineering and factory activities.  

The Uprate Proj Engineer will assist and help coordinate a retained components study with engineering, project management and the implementation team to ensure that components not covered by the uprate contracts are not neglected. 

 

What You Bring (requirements)

  • 6-8 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry
  • Experience in Field Service, Project Management or Engineering
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experienced giving presentations and briefings to Management
  • Knowledge of component design and manufacturing processes
  • Willing and able to travel abroad to SEI and vendor manufacturing facilities
  • Able to pass security background check and receive badge in a US Nuclear power plant
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
