A Snapshot of Your Day

As Solar PV Area Sales Manager (f/m/d) You are driving in an international capture team approach utility-scale Solar PV projects. This covers early-stage engagement up to final contract signature and handover to execution phase. Building and maintaining a healthy pipeline for EPC and O&M projects as well as being the trusted Solar PV interface towards customers. (candidates can be based in Romania, Spain or Italy)

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop & manage project funnel for Solar PV projects w/ focus on Europe
  • Screen market for PV opportunities (Pure PV, PV & Storage, PV as part of more complex energy system)
  • Understand renewable/Solar PV regulation framework and public funding schemes and support resolute application of the marketing sales toolkit to help reduce proposal and implementation costs and minimize risks.
  • Track key opportunities in CRM-tool incl. regular updates for KPIs and project progress
  • Represent Solar PV as primary contact to customers and decision-makers incl. Utilities, IPPs, C&I and investors
  • Build-up deep customer relationship to manage short-term business opportunities and anticipate mid-term trends. 
  • Develop project-specific winning strategies implementing our value proposition for Solar PV projects and identifying the best techno-economical solution in-line with project requirement,.
  • Lead capture team during project acquisition phase including approval gates as required by internal guidelines.
  • Conduct contract negotiations, systematic documentation, and communication of the negotiation results, to ensure achievement of the planned volume of new orders in line with the stipulated positive margin.
  • Handover successful project acquisitions to Project Management teams and support as required
  • Implement Siemens Energy project management guidelines to ensure high-quality bids incl. risk mitigation
  • Minimum 30% business travel (international & domestic)

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree and above. Master or PhD is a plus, major in Engineering and/or Renewable Energy.
  • 10+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry and EPC environment.
  • 7+ years of experience related to Sales, Cost/Bidding, Engineering or Project Management for large PV tenders.
  • 5+ years of experience in Solar PV industry including well-connected network in Solar PV business.
  • Outstanding track-record in Utility-scale Solar PV business with focus on Sales/bidding for EPC and O&M.
  • Demonstrated deep technical knowledge on utility-scale Solar PV applications and required products & technologies.
  • Value selling & customer co-creation skills.
  • Contract law (local & international), compliance rules & regulations and claim management.
  • Risk & Quality Management, PM @ Siemens Energy, LOA guidelines & process.
  • Customer Relationship Management incl. relevant IT-tools.
  •  Multiple stakeholder management (internal and external),
  •  Strong intercultural skills and working experience in muti-national companies and virtual teams.
  •  Conflict & People Management, EHS and quality mindset.
  • Strong in both written and oral English. German or another language relevant for regional responsibility is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Project
