A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our growing Real Estate team to support Project Managers worldwide as a Quantity Surveyor (QS). Your role includes guiding and assisting in setting construction project budgets based on project requirements, procurement strategy, and market conditions. Our projects vary from new factories for renewable energy products over smart warehouses to Innovation Centers and sustainable office buildings.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- In collaboration with project teams, you establish, carry out, and sustain cost management procedures to identify and mitigate significant cost risks.
- You provide cost estimates in various stages of the project life cycle from preliminary to detailed level
- You assess how well cost control measures are working, reviewing cost forecasts and reports to ensure the project team stays on budget and follows the cash-out plan.
- With your expertise in cost and time effective construction methods experience, you enable the PM to deliver the projects on time and within budget
- When cost optimizations are required, you support the PM in Value Engineering, price, and claim negotiations with the General Contractor
- You will work in close collaboration with the PM to ensure the overall project success and deliver on Siemens Energy´s growth targets
What You Bring
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying, Civil engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Chartered status is beneficial.
- Extensive international experience in industrial construction projects!
- Knowledge in typical cost benchmarks for industrial buildings (manufacturing, testing, R&D facilities, warehouses, offices) and the main cost influencing factors.
- Understand pros and cons of contract types to advise project teams on contract management and procurement strategies.
- Good Command of MS Office Package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Very good communication and presentation skills in English.
- Structured, organized way of working – we look for self-starters at work.
