Position Title: Commercial Project Manager
A Snapshot of Your Day
Our Service Organization is looking for a highly driven, self-motivated Commercial Expert to join our team for an Operation & Maintenance and Long-Term Service Program in Sierra Leone. This marks Siemens Energy’s first venture in the country, making this a broader and more impactful role. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial activities of our Service organization including: Controlling its financial resources and ensuring that all financial transactions, systems and procedures align with regulations, accounting principles, guaranteeing all commercial aspects and project financials for Service Orders and acting as finance partner to our sales and project management organization. The position requires working in a dynamic environment, where financial expertise is brought to the contract execution processes.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as a Commercial Side manager for the Branch in Sierra Leone
- Work in collaboration with the project manager and the local team to provide commercial support for the project according to PM@SE guidelines and contractual agreements.
- Responsible for all commercial aspects and project financials including monthly revenue recognition, forecasting, risk and opportunity management, lessons learned, and optimizing profit margins & cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with accounting rules (IFRS 15 & local GAAP) Legal, Compliance, Tax, Foreign Exchange and business models.
- Coordinate local closing activities and reporting for the branch
- Coordinate internal and external partners for closing and reporting activities
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Special assignments and interaction with internal partners and customer as required.
- Perform monthly project financial forecasting, reporting and assess and communicate risks and opportunities regarding financial impacts.
- Ensure achievement of contract requirements (assist with performance guarantees, fx hedging insurances, taxes, etc).
- Perform various general ledger activities including project related journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. Support Internal and External Audits as required
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting or equivalent experience is required.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Business Administration or in Finance, preferably with experience in Project Execution
- Managing large and complex PoC projects, including O&M contracts and Permanent Establishments
- Leadership experiences are preferred
- CPM Certification
· Experience in B-category projects is beneficial.
- English, at professional working proficiency level.
- Self-driven, proactive, and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
