A Snapshot of Your Day
As a team member you will be supporting Technical failure investigation (Root Cause Analysis / RCA) for GT, GN, ST topics (primary focus is on GT components). You will find yourself working in a challenging and rewarding position working closely with cross functional team and our customers.
This position also involves significant internal collaboration across organizations such as product management (PRM), engineering, field service, repair, supply management, etc.
You will be supporting one or more technical failure investigation – from identification to conclusion and mitigation / solution development.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Be a member of cross functional investigation team
- Collect and evaluate inspection information (e.g. pictures, measurement data)
- Generate engine operational history and fleet comparison
- Statistical evaluation of relevant data to assess hypothesis regarding potential failure causes
- Analysis and evaluation of engine operational data using thermodynamic models
- Preparation of meetings with internal expert community (mechanical construction, control logic, reviews etc.) and external customers
- Self-sufficient preparation of presentations and supporting the generation of technical reports
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled as student in mechanical engineering or similar fields (electrical engineering, process engineering, mathematic, statistics..)
- Experience in programming (e.g. VBA, Python), is preferred
- Basics in statistics
- Experience in working with MS Office, especially MS Excel and Power Point
- Knowledge in turbo engineering is an advantage
- Fluent language skills in English and German
- Curiosity for analytical methods and strong motivation
- Communication, Teamwork and Networking skills: Ability to establish relationships and build networks in a global team setup, interfacing with other groups across the organization

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
