A Snapshot of your Day
This position involves managing gas turbine auxiliaries’ technology and operation. Responsibilities include quickly addressing PCM issues to keep engines running, adjusting control settings, and providing risk assessments. The role also supports Customer Order Engineering (COE) for service products, including planning, execution, documentation, and startup support for GT auxiliary components. Balancing PCM/field support with COE project milestones is essential, along with interacting with global counterparts in Germany and the U.S.
How You’ll Make an Impact
The specific responsibilities assigned to the position (but not limited to) are:
- Address PCM and customer issues promptly.
- Oversee the technical aspects of COE projects related to auxiliaries, including control logic development for modifications and upgrades, as well as mechanical and electrical scopes.
- Assist R&D groups with auxiliary scope where applicable.
- Engage in engineering for new business fields involving auxiliary equipment (e.g., Hydrogen, IGCC).
- Keep the group’s knowledge base up to date.
- Provide regional support for gas turbine issues in RME.
What You Bring
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficient in Siemens energy control philosophy for gas turbine operation, with the ability to troubleshoot operational issues.
- Understanding of gas turbine auxiliary equipment such as lube oil, fuel gas, fuel oil, secondary air and various control systems (T3000, TXP or WDPF).
- Ability to work across traditional disciplinary boundaries
- Experience in system design, component sizing and selection, and working with external vendors.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to multitask while exercising sound engineering judgment.
- Proficiency in technical writing and formal presentations, with the ability to present in diverse customer environments.
- Ability to perform well under pressure to meet customer demands in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to read and create process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), electrical schematics, and control logic diagrams.
- Experience and sensitivity in intercultural settings.
- Ability to collaborate with various groups within Siemens Energy to provide comprehensive responses to issues.
